Friendship through Music
Trio Paradis - Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Ruth O'Shea (violin) & Linda Stocks (cello) - are a classical piano trio based in Bath who perform Café Concerts at community venues across Somerset and Wiltshire: daytime concerts with a café where audience members can chat with friends and make new ones. We perform music in a variety of styles, brought together in a themed programme, and the atmosphere is informal and welcoming. Our aim is to develop Friendship through Music.
Booking is not essential, but an RVSP via the event page is much appreciated as it helps us to plan. Turn up early to be sure of best seats. In church venues it might be an idea to bring a cushion!
At the end of each Café Concert there is a retiring collection with pay-what-you-feel donations invited to cover costs. We play regularly in local care homes; and any surplus from concert donations is used to subsidise the cost of these events.
Trio Paradis are in the process of becoming a charity - a not-for-profit collective of professional musicians whose aim is to bring high quality live music to new audiences, in particular people who find it difficult to attend live performances. These include older people, carers, people living in rural communities, those on a low income and anyone without access to transport to attend evening events.
We are passionate about bringing the music of female composers - and other under-performed composers - to a wider audience, and we include works by women in virtually every one of our concerts since Trio Paradis formed in 2009. Our March programme each year consists exclusively of music by female composers in celebration of International Women's Day.
Trio Paradis also play evening concerts and are available to play at weddings, parties and for other occasions. We can put together a tailor-made programme for your event. Email us to enquire.
NEWS!
We are sad to say farewell to Lisa Betteridge who has played with Trio Paradis since 2012, although doubtless she will be back from time to time as a 'dep'. A huge thank you to Lisa for playing so beautifully and being a wonderful colleague to work with over nearly 12 years.
We are delighted to welcome Ruth O'Shea as our new violinist and look forward to working with her. Ruth is Co-Director of Bath Strings Academy - you can find out more about Ruth here
