Speranza: Songs of the Nations

Speranza - Kath Sugden (flute), Charles Sugden (cello) & Jacquelyn Bevan (piano) - are a trio based in Chard who give regular daytime community concerts at St Mary's Church on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm.

May's concert is 'Songs from the Nations' and includes Slavonic Dance in Em by Dvorak, Bartok's 5 Romanian Folk Dances, three folk songs from the British Isles, trio arrangements of Spirituals (3 of the 5 Negro Spirituals) by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and maybe one or two surprises!

Lunchtime refreshments in the Parish Rooms before the concert, which is entry - or rather, exit - by donation, with a retiring collection.
