The English Romantics at St Thomas' Church Wells

Trio Paradis play a café concert (usually!) on the first Monday morning of each month at St Thomas’ Church: informal feel-good music events with a pop-up café half an hour open before the concert where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes, and enjoy live music. It’s c£3.50 for a drink and a cake.

May's programme is a collection of beautiful music by English composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, among them Charles Villiers Stanford, Frank Bridge, Ernest Austin and Alice Verne-Bredt.

Concerts last c45m, and entrance - or rather, exit! - is by pay-what-you-feel donation, with a retiring collection. You might like to bring a cushion for the pew.
